Dr. Joey CarterJoey Carter, M.D. joined Bayside Orthopaedic, Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center in 2000. Dr. Carter received his Doctorate of Veterinarian Medicine from Mississippi State University in 1986 and practiced veterinarian medicine in the state of Mississippi for 5 years. He attended the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 1995. He completed his orthopaedic residency at UMMC in 2000.

He has completed an AO / ASIF Trauma Fellowship in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and has completed advanced Trauma Life Support Certification. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is a member of the Christian Medical and Dental Society.

Dr. Carter enjoys outdoor activities including hunting, fishing and multi-sport training. He and his wife, Michele, have 3 active daughters, Jill, Julie and Jessica.
