Joey Franklin Carter, M.D.

Dr. Carter’s medical career actually began in a different direction, and a very different kind of patient. Originally a veterinarian, the Mississippi native realized his true passion for the healing power of medicine was calling him elsewhere. A return to medical school followed, and Dr. Carter received his MD from the University of Mississippi School Of Medicine in Jackson, MS in 1995. He interned and completed his residency there as well with the University’s Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Carter performs Velys Digital Joint Replacement Surgery,  is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery, a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and a member of the Alabama Orthopaedic Society.  Dr. Carter joined Bayside Orthopaedic in 2000.
